Job Title: Sailing School Coordinator

Location: Shilshole Bay Marina, Seattle

Full Time Salaried Position $27,500 -- $32,500 DOE



The Seattle Sailing Club is looking for a new School Coordinator to head up our American Sailing Association certified sailing school. This is a people-first position, with its focus on education and sales. But organizational skill is a must, as scheduling and school management will go through the school coordinator. This position also works closely with the Club Manager to help grow Club activities, membership, as well as fostering an inclusive community of enthusiastic sailors.



School Responsibilities:

The School Coordinator is responsible for managing the sailing school at SSC.



• Point person for all students and instructors: questions, curriculum, preparations, etc.

• Lesson marketing and sales

• Schedule all courses, students and instructors

• Acting liaison with the American Sailing Association

• School material inventory management





Shared Responsibilities:

The nature of business at the Seattle Sailing Club is dynamic and the school coordinator works closely with the Club Manager, gaining experience in most elements of the business.



• Sales of sailing lessons, club memberships, and retail sailing gear

• Writing website content

• Monthly newsletter articles

• Opening/Closing, set up for club functions

• Occasionally assist with troubleshooting of boat repairs



Qualifications:



• Sailing experience: cruising or racing, passion for sailing is a must!

• Scheduling and organization skill: balancing instructor, boat, and student schedules

• Previous experience teaching sailing or managing a sailing program

• Friendly, Professional, and Engaging: Interpersonal interactions are a big part of the job, and ideal

candidates will communicate with our students and members in a manner befitting the fun and friendly

atmosphere here at SSC, both in person and on the phone

• Ability to work most weekends



Desired but not required:



• Previous experience with American Sailing Association, ideally instructor certifications

• US Coast Guard Captains License

• Web experience using Wordpress, bbPress, Big Commerce, and Constant Contact

• Location: Ballard


• Compensation: $27,500 - $32.500 depending on experience
